Mud Season…..

Mud season on Buck Mtn
Lots of rain, wet chickens
Hurry up sunshine and daffodils

That’s the haiku I wrote to describe the current situation on our farm. It’s been raining heavily all day and the ground is soggy and muddy. The chickens are not happy and neither are we. We are longing for some sun and spring flowers to brighten up our mood. But we are not giving up hope. We know that mud season is a sign of transition, of new life and growth. We know that soon enough, we will see the green grass, the colorful blossoms and the blue sky. And we will appreciate them even more after this gloomy period. So we are trying to make the best of it, to find some humor and joy in our daily chores. We are also planning some projects and activities for when the weather improves. We are looking forward to planting our garden, hiking on the trails, having picnics and barbecues, and enjoying the beauty of nature. We are grateful for living on this wonderful mountain, even when it’s muddy and rainy. We hope you are doing well too, wherever you are. Stay tuned for more updates from our farm!
